While still small Kyo Kusanagi (Sean Faris) is nearly just died at the hands of his own father. Kyo's father did not want his son influenced to become a fighter. As a result, Kyo fell into a coma. When awakened, Kyo just feel the anger and confusion but that's not how because Kyo would conflict that entailed the destruction of the world.
Rugal Bernstein (Ray Park) had one obsession. He wants to be the best fighter in the world. In carrying out his plan, Rugal never had doubts. All who stand in his way must be destroyed, by any means. One of the ways used by Rugal is with martial arts tournament known as the King of Fighters.
Now Kyo no choice but to confront and thwart all plans Rugal Rugal barbaric. Kyo did not own. Iori Yagami (Will Yun Lee) and Mai Shiranui (Maggie Q) who will accompany Kyo save the world. At the same time, the FBI was already kissed Rugal plan and send Terry Bogard (David Leitch) to investigate this Rugal plan
